Evaluating Information Web Sites & Citing Sources: Topic 9
- one for an article from a subscription database about the book, such as a book review (try EBSCO Teacher Resources and search for your book's title or author),

Westerfeld, Scott. Leviathan. 1st Simon Pulse hardcover ed. ed. New York: Simon Pulse, 2009. Print.
- one for a web page (evaluated and that you could use for a school research paper having to do with the author or the book).

Books and Reading: Topic 8
The site I used is Good reads. It is a site where you can find books you've read and rate them or book you haven't read but want to read and put them in a list.
one of the difficult parts would be if you don't see the book you're looking for and don't remember the name or forgot how to spell it :(
I would have used Shelfari but is wouldn't work and the other one looked weird, plus i had already made an account on this one so I just used it.
you can use this in school by organizing books for class or buy the book you need.

Documents & Presentations: Topic 7
google drive can be helpful and you could easily organize your school work if you have multiple documents and you don't have to worry about saving because it does it fore you.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1eEfP-XdGUKneBFrSFFLz8S6glA37KR_DFJsz12vZ87w
this is a google docs thing I made that is a timeline of the Leviathan book
next is a thing called WebTools4u2use which has a lot of tools that you can use to help with presenting things. the one I used was Magnoto and I created this http://stuckinfandoms.magnoto.com I find this tool easy to use and it's pretty straight forward. If you need to organize some photos this could help. Its different then power point because it's all on one thing though and I would only use it for organizing where to put photos.
the next thing is from Glogster and I created this glogster.com/ It's easy to use and all you have to do is type in a topic and it will give you many pictures to choose from on that subject. This could possibly be used if you're having trouble finding a picture you need for a project.

Creating Animations and Videos : Topic 6
http://animoto.com/
I used animoto to make this small video thing. I hope you enjoy!
I chose animoto because it was the easiest and most fun out of the choices. I was able to actually do it on a subject I wanted to when the others would only give me pre-made models that I had no idea what to do with! so this was a lot of fun for me :)

Creating Your Own Images: Topic 5
For this post I used these two websites
ImageChef for the first one
and
Big Huge Labs for the second one.

Big Huge Labs for the second one.
It's fun to use these things because there's a lot to experiment with.

Photos, Images & Giving Credit: Topic 4
Does copyright last forever? No it does not. Copyright lasts for 70 years after the item in question is published, though it used to be only 14.
what if you want to use something that could be copyrighted before it becomes legal? you would either have to pay the one who made the thing in the first place or ask permission to use it. you can't change the original too much and you must put a link to the original.

- What is a Creative Commons license and why is it important for us? It helps find pictures that are not copyrighted so that we don't accidentally break the law.
this is a picture showing two of the fabricated animals that can be found on the Leviathan and they are used to fight off clanker attacks.
this is a map of Europe in the book "Leviathan" it shows who the Clankers and Darwenests are

Blogroll and Commenting: Topic 3
- How could blogging be used to enhance learning in your high school classes? It could possibly help them write papers or maybe show what is appropriate on what to put up?
- Tell us about two of the characters in the book that you are reading for your book trailer. What do they look like? What kind of personality characteristics do they have? Do they have any problems? Would you be friends with them if they went to PHS? the two characters I will talk about are prince Alec and airman Deryn. Alek has brown hair, green eyes, and wears an over coat, pants and boots. Deryn has short blond hair, blue eyes, and wears a crewman outfit like everyone else on the airship. Alek holds himself high and that tends to get him in trouble. he is a prince from Austria who was taught many languages and how to fight with a sword. even though he acts all high and mighty he tries to help the Darwnests who are an enemy of Austria so he could find a way to end this war. Deryn can have a smart mouth but puts it to good use. they care a lot about the fabricated beasts and knows a lot about them. they love to be in the sky. Alek had to leave Austria because his parents were poisoned so someone could start a war between the Darwnests and Clankers and is being hunted down because he has a small chance of rising to the throne and ending the war. Deryn is a girl but she has to pose as a boy named Dylen so she doesn't get kicked off the Leviathan and be sent home to live a boring life and never be able to fly again. I think I might have a chance to be friends with Deryn if she went here but its not that big of a chance.
- What about the setting of the book. Where does it take place: in the country, the city, a high school? What is the time frame: in the present, the past, the future? Describe one scene in the book so that we can get a feel for the setting and time. The story takes place in Europe during the WW2 era but in an alternate universe where there are the Darwnests who fabricate animals for different purposes that are helpful, and the Clankers who see the fabricated beasts as soulless abominations and they use large machines instead. It's all steampunk like too so that's an awesome bonus. In one scene the Leviathan was under attack by German planes who were shooting holes into the hydrogen filled beasty to try to bring it down.

Avatars: Topic 2
this is the character creator thing I used to make the picture. they also have a lot of other ones but I think this one works best for faces.

It was fairly easy and fun to make and it has a lot of options you can choose.
I chose to make my avatar like this because it kinda looks like me, but still a bit different, I chose the forest background because I like forests, and I chose the kitty because it was adorable :3

Digital Citizenship: Topic 1.
- Comments on blogging guidelines, which will be most difficult to follow? I think the hardest one to follow would be number 10- (Anytime you use media from another source, be sure to properly cite the creator of the original work. Ask yourself: Who is the original creator of this work?) because I am still figuring out how to do that.
- What is digital citizenship? Digital citizenship is being careful about what you post because it may affect you in the future or affect the person you are posting about.
- What are the rights and responsibilities of a digital citizen in today’s world? You can post what you want but always make sure it wont affect anyone in a bad manner. If you do, make sure it is private so only your friends can see it.
- (this is actually 3) Thoughts about your own digital footprint? I don't really know, I will have to see how it goes later when it is bigger.
